Blanken (Bahrdorf)

Blanken , sometimes also called Zum Blanken , is a residential area belonging to Bahrdorf , in the Helmstedt district in Lower Saxony .

Blanken is located in the east of Lower Saxony, only around three kilometers from the state border to Saxony-Anhalt . The landscape around Blanken is counted as part of the Helmstedter Holzland . The Lapau flows north of Blanken .

District roads lead from Blanken in the northwest to Bahrdorf (train station), Meinkot and Papenrode , and in the southeast to Bahrdorf, Mackendorf and Rickensdorf . The Helmstedt – Oebisfelde railway has passed since 1895 on the eastern edge of Blanken , the nearest train station was Bahrdorf. In 1945 the railway line was interrupted by the inner German border and rail traffic stopped. The bus stop in Blanken is no longer served, the closest stop is now “Rickensdorf Aussiedlerhof”.

Blanken belongs to Bahrdorf ( post code 38459) and to the local network Velpke ( phone code 05364).

The Bahrdorf district forester , which existed in Blanken, belonged to the Mariental Forestry Office . The Vorwerk in Blanken belonged to the Gutshof Bahrdorf.
