It is located on the south side of the Quedlinburg market square and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The house Blasiistraße 1 , which is also protected, adjoins it to the east and Blasiistraße 2a, 3 to the west. On the south-facing rear, the property borders on Word Street .
Architecture and history
The three-storey half - timbered house was probably built in 1650 by the master carpenter Wulf Goetze . The inscription referring to the year of construction was later disfigured in 1630 . The client was Hans Bethge. The family, who also owned the neighboring property at Blasiistraße 2a, ran a soap and saddlery here . It is registered as a residential building in the city's monument register. The half-timbered structure has parapet stands and the half- man half-timbered figure . In addition, there are a variety of decorative elements. In addition to the valleys and pyramid beam heads , notched medallions , arched and console friezes were also used. There is an inscription on the threshold .
An Art Nouveau shop was added to the ground floor . The house is considered to be significant in terms of art history, as it shows the transition from the late renaissance style to the so-called Quedlinburg style .
Towards the Word there is a three-storey half-timbered building from 1712. It is provided with an early form of a belt profile for Quedlinburg . The inscription G. ZM refers to the builder . This could be the master carpenter Abel Goldfuss, son of the master carpenter Gabriel Goldfuss . The basement is designed in massive construction in the neo-renaissance style.
