House Blasiistraße 5

The house Blasiistraße 5 is a listed residential and commercial building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

The half-timbered house is located southwest of the town's market square and, together with the Quedlinburg city center, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The Altstadtladen store is located on the ground floor .

History and architecture

It is assumed that the building is one of the few half-timbered houses in Quedlinburg from the late Gothic period . The construction time was assumed for the first quarter of the 16th century. However, the year 1469 was determined dendrochronologically . The roof structure also comes from ancient times. The neighboring houses at Blasiistraße 4 and 6 were built in the same construction period. Overlapping of footbands and struts can be seen on the framework of the upper floor . The six windows facing the street are lined up next to each other.

The ground floor was expanded into a shop at the beginning of the 20th century.
