Blood Car is an American independent film directed by Alex Orr . It premiered in 2007.

Two weeks in the future: the oil crisis has taken on dramatic forms. Hardly anyone can still afford to use a car. Archie Andrews, elementary school teacher and committed vegan , tinkers in his spare time on an engine that is to be powered by wheatgrass juice . In one of his numerous attempts, some Archie blood gets into the machine and the engine runs like clockwork. During a test drive, he met Denise, the local meat seller. He loads her into his car, but runs out of gas in the middle of a blowjob . He is now equipping his car with a fan in the trunk that works as a chopper and directs the blood directly into the tank. Archie, plagued by his conscience but keen to meet Denise again, goes hunting with his air rifle . However, the squirrels, dogs and birds killed do not bring the desired success. Only when he puts his dead neighbor in the trunk does the car begin to drive again. With Denise he experiences a few nights full of perversions, but he always needs more corpses. A Vietnam War veteran and two government officials attempting to steal the car become his victims. He also starts killing innocent people in order to satisfy his sexual appetites with Denise. When she's not there one day, he takes the tofu seller Lorraine home with him. She had a long time eye on Archie, but he only thinks of Denise. When Lorraine takes a shower after sex, he notices the answering machine. Denise wants to meet him in a steak house.
The government is about to steal his car, but Archie can stop the two officers and hunt them down. Covered in blood, he drives to the meeting point and throws his last principles overboard: he eats barbecue . The two spend a turbulent night. When he arrives at his place of work, still covered in blood, he is just starting to read a story about the Tibet conflict . The government officials storm the class and ask him for interrogation. They propose a deal: Archie should design the engines for them, for which he would be given the highest post in any country. Archie strikes and the officers clean up his previous life: the elementary school class, Lorraine and Denise are executed and Archie moves into the White House .

The independent flick was made on a budget of $ 14,000 . The backdrops are therefore limited to a minimum. With Anna Chlumsky as the inconspicuous tofu dealer, a former child star was won. It is Alex Orr's first full-length film, previously he had only made short films.
The film sees itself as a black - humored satire on the blood-for-oil conflict. The film contains some reminiscences of The Last Tango in Paris , Amadeus , The Little Horror Shop and various splatter and grindhouse films.
