Bloodflowerz is a German alternative rock band from Schwäbisch Hall .
history
Bloodflowerz were founded in 2001 in Schwäbisch Hall. In the same year the band was signed by Achim Ostertag / Silverdust Records (including End of Green, Psychopunch, Undertow) and released their first album Diabolic Angel in April 2002 , produced by Roger Grüninger. They played as the opening act for bands like Anathema , Subway to Sally , and In Extremo . In 2003 the second album 7 Benedictions / 7 Maledictions was released , produced by Siggi Bemm in the Woodhouse Studio in Hagen. At the end of 2005 the guitarists Markus and Siggi, as well as bassist Joachim “Jojo” Schulz left the band. In 2006 the third album Dark Love Poems , produced by Alex Krull in Mastersound Studio in Ludwigsburg, with Jan Beckmann (Ex-Fatered) on bass and Jogi Laser (Ex-Blue Season) on guitar, was released. For the song Damaged Promises , the band shot a video with Dominik Münch (Heretic Arts) and Michael Schneider (2DMedia). Bloodflowerz played at numerous shows and festivals (Mera Luna, Summerbreeze, Wave-Gothic-Treffen ...). On December 26, 2007 their farewell concert took place in Nuremberg.
At the beginning of 2015 the band opened a new chapter in their band history. In addition to singer Kirsten and bassist Jojo, guitarist Marco Klein (Opalessence), guitarist Roger Grüninger ( Die Allergie , Real Dead Love) and drummer Tino Calmbach (including Eyes of Solace) ensure fresh blood.

Band name
The band name "Bloodflowerz" is inspired by the eponymous The Cure album Bloodflowers . The changes in the notation serve to better differentiate between them. The name stands for opposites. The band also writes the name using the international phonetic alphabet as Bl [ʌ] dflowerz (where ʌ denotes the vowel such as but , nut or blood , the square brackets are generally used to clarify a phonetic spelling) .
