The Flower Island ( Serbian: Ostrvo Cvijeća ), also Miholjska Prevlaka (German: Prevlaka Michaels) or the island of St. Michael the Archangel , is an island in the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro . It is one of three islands in the Tivat Basin , also known as the Krtoljski Archipelago . A strait just 5 meters wide separates the island from the Brdo peninsula . About 100 meters away is the island of Sveti Marko and another 100 meters away is the island of Gospa od Milosti .
The Orthodox monastery of St. Michael the Archangel was once located on the island of flowers , hence the older name Miholjska Prevlaka. The monastery was considered a foundation of the Nemanjids . It is certain that around 1219 St. Sava was intended as the diocese for the Zeta . The monastery was destroyed by the Venetians in the 15th century .
Today on the island, not far from the ruins of the monastery, there is the Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity (Serbo-Croat. Sveta Trojica), built around 1883.
