Blood purification tea

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blood purification tea , also known as detox tea , became medicinal and is still used today in folk and alternative medicine on the assumption that it could purify the blood of hypothetical pollutants .

Mainly diuretic and laxative tea drugs are used to make blood cleansing teas. However, depending on the manufacturer, completely different plants are used. Commonly used include blackthorn , hornbill , nightshade , pansy , grouse , nettle , field horsetail , and birch .

At the beginning of the 19th century, the Würzburg-born pharmacist Carl Reichel (1843-1916), who was born in Veitshöchheim from 1895, sold a blood cleansing tea based on a recipe from his in Würzburg from 1833 to 1875 and then in Veitshöchheim as a merchant (among other things as a "colonial goods dealer and vinegar manufacturer." “As well as manufacturer of pharmaceutical preparations) is the work of father Martin Reichel (1800–1887). Orders for “Martin Reichel's blood purification tea” were placed between 1901 and 1914 not only from Bavaria and Central Germany, but also from several cities in Austria-Hungary , for example . “Martin Reichel's blood purification tea” was later sold from Würzburg by Carl Reichel's son-in-law Hermann Lockner (1850–1928) and his grandson Hermann Lockner (1894–1980) until 1944 (order address: Ludwigstrasse 7). A in an old edition of the Swiss Pharmacopoeia (Pharmacopoeia Helvetica V, 1933) monografierte Blutreinigungstee ( Species depurativae contains) sassafras , walnut leaves , blackthorn , senna , pansy , guaiac wood , fennel seed , licorice root and Sarsaparillenwurzel .

The term "blood purification tea" is not used in the scientific medical literature. It is impossible to purify the blood from slags with the help of tea . The human body naturally clears toxins through the liver and kidney . The use of blood purification teas should, however, stimulate these detoxification and excretion functions. There is no slag (a term from metal processing) in the human body . The concept of metabolites as products of metabolism would be more appropriate here. Because most blood purification teas have a diuretic or laxative effect, there is a risk of getting used to it if you use them for a long time.
