Blythe beans

Blythe Bohnen (* 1940 in Evanston , Illinois ) is an American painter and photographer .

Life

She studied at Smith College , Boston University, and Hunter College in New York, and made a Master of Fine Arts in 1972 . She was a founding member of the AIR gallery . At the beginning of her career she painted. Her very gestural painting was replaced by photography when she began to photograph her movements in 1974 and to produce series of self-portraits . She produced gelatin silver prints and worked with exposure times between 3 and 4 seconds.
