Hexafluoropropylene oxide is the peroxide to hexafluoropropene .
Extraction and presentation
Hexafluoropropylene oxide can be obtained by oxidizing hexafluoropropene with alkaline hydrogen peroxide .
use
Hexafluoropropylene oxide is used as a raw material for perfluoroalkoxy polymers . It is also a monomer for the fluoropolymer perfluoropolyether ( Krytox ).
Furthermore, hexafluoropropylene oxide is involved in most synthetic routes to fluorinated ionomers .
