Bořek Dočkal (born September 30, 1988 in Městec Králové ) is a Czech football player who has been playing for Sparta Prague since February 2019 .

Club career

Dočkal began playing football at Bohemia Poděbrady and moved to the junior division of Slavia Prague at the age of nine . At Slavia, he went through all youth teams before he was used from the 2006/07 season in the B team, which played in the ČFL . On October 15, 2006, the then 18-year-old Dočkal made his debut in the 1-0 away win against SK Kladno in the Gambrinus League . In the further course of the season, the midfielder came to five more appearances in the top Czech league and scored his first professional goal on November 27, 2006 in a 4-2 away win over FK Teplice . For the B-Team he scored five times in a total of 18 games.

To get more match practice, Dočkal was loaned out to league rivals SK Kladno in the summer of 2007. In Kladno , the midfielder immediately belonged to the regular staff and played all 14 preliminary round matches of the 2007/08 Gambrinus League season. The move from relegation candidate Kladno to European Cup contender Slovan Liberec brought him consistently good performance . Dočkal immediately won a regular place in Liberec as well . In the 2008/09 season he demonstrated his shooting strength and scored five goals in 27 encounters. In July 2010 Dočkal was awarded for one year to the Turkish first division club Konyaspor . In August 2011 he signed a three and a half year contract with Rosenborg Trondheim .

National team

Dočkal was used twice in 2003 in the Czech U-16 team, then he played in 2004 and 2005 for the U-17 team . From 2006 to 2007 the defender was used in the U-19. From 2007 to 2011 Dočkal was a regular member of the Czech U-21 national team.

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was included in the Czech squad . He was only used in the third game against Turkey and when the 2-0 for the opponent had fallen in the 65th minute, he was replaced shortly afterwards. It was the team's last game at the EM.
