Boarhills is a hamlet in the East Neuk region of the Scottish Council Area Fife . It is located about five kilometers southeast of St Andrews and nine kilometers north of Anstruther near the confluence of the Kenly Waters in the North Sea .
history
To the northwest of Boarhills, a basement and a presumably Iron Age Promontory Fort are evidence of the early settlement of the area. In the late 18th century, the villa Kenly Green House was built on the southern edge of the hamlet . The Boarshill Old Schoolhouse dates from 1815. The neo-Gothic Boarhills Parish Church dates from the 1860s. As part of the defense line along the North Sea coast were at times even at the Boarhills WWII Pillboxbunker built that enjoy historical monument today.
Between 1961 and 2001, Boarhills' population fell from 128 to 80.

Boarhills is located off the coast road A917 (St Andrews - Upper Largo ) and thus has access to a trunk road. The road runs through the built in 1793 arch bridge Kenly Bridge .
With the Fife Coast Railway , the railway arrived in Boarhills in 1883. However, the local train station and the line were closed in 1965.
