Bob McMillen
Bob McMillen (actually Robert Earl McMillen ; born March 5, 1928 in Los Angeles , † April 1, 2007 ) was an American middle-distance and obstacle runner .
In 1948 he started over 3000 m obstacle at the Olympic Games in London , but did not get beyond the lead.
In 1952, starting for Occidental College , he became NCAA champions over 1500 m and won the national elimination match over this distance for the Olympic Games in Helsinki . There he won silver with the US record of 3: 45.2 minutes, beaten by a hair's breadth by Josy Barthel from Luxembourg .
