Boccaccio Boccaccino

Boccaccio Boccaccino (* around 1467 in Ferrara , † 1524 in Cremona ) was an Italian painter in the early Renaissance .

Boccaccio studied with Ercole de 'Roberti and was later heavily influenced by the Venetian painters. Boccaccio led an eventful life and often changed patrons and residences. In 1510 he finally settled in Cremona. Here he created magnificent frescoes with representations from the New Testament (1515–1519) for the cathedral . His son Camillo Boccaccino was also a painter.
