The Bocola Verlag was founded in 2006 by Achim Dressler. The Klotten-based publisher publishes new editions , with a focus on US newspaper comics , with new editions of well-known and less well-known works and historical novels .
At the 2008 Frankfurt Book Fair, Bocola Verlag received the Sondermann Prize for the fourth volume of its Prinz Eisenherzausgabe by Hal Foster . In 2019 the publisher was launched with Peng! - The Munich comic prize in the category of best new release of a classic for Alex Raymond : Rip Kirby - The complete comic strips awarded.
