history

Bodenschwende was probably a village founded by a Bodo in the 10th or 11th century, which was probably abandoned in the 14th century and forested as a result.

The settlement was mentioned in a document around 1376, when Archbishop Peter met Counts Dietrich, Ulrich and Heinrich von Hohnstein a . a. with the castle Wippra and accessories Baden Schwende belehnte . On September 17, 1382, Count Ulrich von Hohnstein sold half of the castle and town of Wippra back to Archbishop Friedrich , together with a wood in Botenswerder . In 1523, a swimmer was once again named as an accessory by Wippra in a loan letter from Archbishop Albrechts V to the Counts of Mansfeld .

On July 9th, 1533, he was mentioned as a floor swing in an arbitration agreement between Count Hoyer and Count Ernst's sons with Count Albrecht von Mansfeld . Around 1533 or 1534 the forest of Bodenschwende is mentioned in a list of deserts in the Rammelburger Erbbuch. In 1565 there was a mention of the same name.

On June 10, 1579 it was mentioned in a document of the Eisleber permutation process that the ore monastery of Magdeburg had ceded the entire Bodenschwend together with all the villages in it to Electoral Saxony .
