Bodo Korsig

Bodo Korsig (* 1962 in Zwickau ) is a German artist who works across media and genres with various techniques and materials, including woodcuts, drawings, painting, sculpture, photography, video and performance.

Korsig became known for his influential, large-format woodcuts and monotypes. His work is represented in over 50 museums worldwide, as well as in public and private collections.

Artistic creation

Korsig lives and works in Trier and New York. He studied sculpture and stone restoration in Berlin. Korsig also works as a sculptor, photographer, set designer and video artist.

In addition to sculptures and installations, he carried out numerous projects in public spaces, including the work “State of Mind” (2012) at Erbeskopf (Rhineland-Palatinate) or the installation “Connecting the dots - Challenge the status quo” (2018) at Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan.

In the course of his career, the artist produced over 40 limited artist books , which were created in collaboration with international writers such as John Ashbery (USA), Peter Wawerzinek (DE), Paul Auster (USA) and Akira Tatehara (JPN).
