Bodo Schaff

Bodo Erich Werner Schaff (* 1948 in Trier-Ehrang ) is a former German diplomat .

Life

After graduating from the Stormarn School in Ahrensburg , Schaff studied economics at the Free University of Berlin , where he completed his doctorate in 1985 with a dissertation on the subject of money market certificates of deposit - a microeconomic analysis of the CD markets in the USA and London .

He then joined the Foreign Service and, after completing the career test, found work in various diplomatic missions abroad and at the headquarters of the Foreign Office . In July 2003 he became Counselor Head of the Cultural Department of the Embassy in South Africa . In 2009 he worked as counselor at the embassy in Guatemala and, in this function, organized a trip for Frank Schwabe , a member of the Bundestag, for SPD .

In 2010 Dr. Bodo Schaff successor to Ilse Lindemann-Macha Ambassador in Liberia . In this capacity, he signed a debt rescheduling agreement between the Federal Republic of Liberia and Liberia in February 2011 together with Liberia's finance minister, Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan . In May 2011, a visit was organized by Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel , who was accompanied by members of the Bundestag and representatives of the German construction industry. In September 2013 he retired as Ambassador to Liberia and was then replaced by Ralph Timmermann , who was previously the Ambassador's Permanent Representative to the Philippines .

He presents his experiences from his diplomatic work, as most recently in Liberia, in lectures.
