The Bogani Hut (ital. Rifugio Arnaldo Bogani ) is located in the municipality of Esino Lario , Lombardy , in the Val d'Esino, in the Lombard Prealps , at an altitude of 1816  m slm

history

The hut was built in 1905/1906 as the "Monza hut" by the Monza CAI section, not far from the place where the first hut of the Grigna , the Moncodeno hut, was destroyed by an avalanche in 1897 . The Monza hut was destroyed by the fascists in 1944 because it had served as accommodation for the partisans of the 89th Garibaldi Battalion . The following year it was rebuilt and named after Arnaldo Bogani, the former chairman of the CAI Monza.

location

The Bogani hut is located on Alp Cainallo in a larch forest near the Bregai karst basin, on the north side of the Grigna settentrionale .

Access

From Esino Lario the path leads to the Cainallopass (Vò di Moncodeno car park) and to the Bocchetta (ridge) / Porta di Prada 1626  m slm (path 24). Shortly before it divides and leads either over the Alp of Moncodeno (path 25) or after the Porta di Prada over the Bocchetta di Piancaformia 1805  m slm (path 19) into the Val Laghetto to the Bogani hut .

hikes

  • Cainallopass - Ghiacciaia (ice cellar) from Moncodeno - Bogani hut:

From the Cainallopass you climb along the northern slopes of the Grigna Settentrionale (northern summit, also called Grignone) (path 25). Near the Alp Moncodeno 1670  m slm , the ice cave of Moncodeno, which was already described by Leonardo da Vinci , can be visited with the help of a guide and cave equipment. The tour continues to the beginning of the “Valle di Mulini” valley and to the Bogani hut.

  • Cainallopass - Boganihütte - Piancaformiagrat - Brioschihütte / Grignone - Pialeralhütte - Pasturo :

From Alpe Cainallo over the Boganihütte (path 25) via the ridge of the Piancaformia to the Grignone / Brioschihütte 2410  m slm , then down on its southern slopes over the Pialeralhütte 1400  m slm to Pasturo.

The hut is the starting point for the ascent to the Brioschi hut on the "via della Ganda" or via "il Nevaio". For the cave explorers, there are numerous clefts in this area.
