The Boggs Valley is a valley strewn with moraine rubble in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It lies on the east side of the Helliwell Hills between Mount Van der Hoeven and Mount Alford .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1969 after the American biologist William J. Boggs, who was responsible for the United States Antarctic Program worked on the McMurdo station between 1967 and 1968 .
