Mount Van der Hoeven is a 1940 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises north of the head of the Boggs Valley near the center of the Helliwell Hills .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after the seismologist Frans G. Van der Hoeven, who was part of the United States Antarctic Program of 1959 to 1960 led an expedition to explore Victoria Land.
