geography
source
The Boka is fed by a karst spring in the Kanin , which is located at the foot of a vertical rock wall. The amount of water that escapes varies greatly depending on the season and the weather. During the snowmelt in spring, the amount of water increases to up to 100 cubic meters per second and drops to two cubic meters per second in dry periods.
waterfall
Only about 30 meters behind the source, the Boka falls over a width of 18 meters in two steps, a total of 144 meters in depth ⊙ . The free fall of the first stage is 106 meters, the second stage another 30 meters. The Boka Falls is the highest waterfall in Slovenia.
muzzle
After a length of only about one kilometer, the Boka flows into the Soča above the village of Log Čezsoški. By then it has overcome a height of around 550 meters.
tourism
The Boka waterfall ( slov. Slap Boka ) can already be seen from the valley road along the Soča from Bovec to Žaga. There are parking spaces for hikers on both sides of the bridge over the Boka.
A sometimes difficult hiking trail to the source of the Boka starts northwest of the bridge. The walking time to the source is about 1.5 hours. An easy hiking trail begins to the southwest of the bridge and leads into the Boka Valley and closer to the waterfall.
