description

The genus Bokermannohyla was separated from the genus Hyla in 2005 after molecular biological investigations . It is mainly distinguished from other genera by various genetic differentiations. So far, no morphological synapomorphism of the taxon is known.

Occurrence

The genus Bokermannohyla is distributed in southern Brazil in the states of Paraná , Minas Gerais , Bahia , Goiás , Rio de Janeiro , São Paulo and Santa Catarina as well as in the Distrito Federal do Brasil .
