The Bolshaya Schirta ( Russian Большая Ширта , Great Schirta ' ) is a right tributary of the Tas in the far north of Western Siberia .
The Bolshaya Shirta runs in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug in a swampy landscape in the north of the West Siberian lowlands . The Bolshaya Shirta has a length of 306 km. It drains an area of 10,200 km². The river is fed by the snowmelt and the rain . In the middle reaches the Bolshaya Schirta has many tight meanders .
