history

Bonin used to be a manor . It has been suggested that the Bonin family had settled here in earlier times . The first documentary evidence of Bonin in recent times who owned the estate was Antonius v. Bonin , ducal Pomeranian government councilor, Cologne cathedral dean and castle captain to Bublitz and Körlin († 1626). After various families took turns in ownership of the estate, it went bankrupt and was auctioned off to the highest bidder in 1768. In 1847 the estate was bought by Georg Holtz . There was a school house on site.

Before 1945 Bonin belonged to the rural community Zewelin and belonged with this to the district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of the Second World War, the Red Army occupied the region in the spring of 1945 . Soon afterwards Zewelin and Bonin were placed under Polish administration together with the whole of Western Pomerania . The immigration of Polish civilians in the village began. The Alteinwohner von Bonin was in the period that followed sold .

The place name of Bonin was not changed. Today Bonin is part of the Gmina Manowo (municipality of Manow) in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship (until 1998 Köslin Voivodeship ).
