Coat of arms of those of Bonin

Bonin is the name of an old aristocratic family from the East Pomerania with the parent house of the same name in the Dramburg district south of Köslin .

history

The family first appears in a document in 1294 with miles Thesmarus de Bonin . The direct line of trunks begins with Swantus († around 1356), the castle judge of Belgard and squire on Dubbertech , Naseband and Wogenthin. Under his sons, the family is divided into the two main lines Dubbertech with Wogenthin and Naseband, which still exist today. A third line of Gumenz probably expired in the 17th century, at least it has remained unexplored to this day.

Some members of the family who had embarked on military careers made names for themselves as high-ranking officers.

The right to present the Prussian mansion was granted on November 28, 1901 in Potsdam ( Neues Palais ).
