Ulrich Bogislaus von Bonin

Ulrich Bogislaus von Bonin (born September 28, 1682 in Karzin ; † January 9, 1752 ) was a German poet of Protestant sacred songs.

Life

Ulrich Bogislaus was a descendant of the Pomeranian Bonin family . His father was Christoph Ulrich von Bonin (* 1654, baptized on Aug. 6, 1654, † 10 December 1700), Mr. on Karzin, Amtshauptmann to Bublitz , kurbrandenburgischer Landkammerrat, kurbrandenburgischer captain a. D. in the regiment of Flemming on horseback. His mother was Magdalene von Bonin, née von Puttkamer from the Treblin family (born March 15, 1659 in Treblin, † December 15, 1692 in Karzin). Anselm Christoph von Bonin (1685–1755) was his younger brother.

Career

At the age of ten he lost his mother in 1692, and when he was eighteen in 1700 he lost his father. His family had earmarked him for an officer career in the Prussian army . He began as a free corporal in 1700 and became an ensign in 1704 . As a soldier he took part in four campaigns.

In 1710 he left the service and went to the University of Halle , where he studied theology. But already in 1711 he accepted the offer to become court master for the young Count Heinrich XXIX. (1699–1742) from Reuss-Ebersdorf .

When Heinrich XXIX. came to the government, Bonin was his advisor and stayed at the imperial court of Ebersdorf . Count Heinrich XXIX. became a committed representative of the Protestant denomination of the Moravian Brethren . Bonin was close to the Moravians, but without completely converting to them. Ulrich Bogislaus von Bonin died in 1752 and was buried in the church of Ebersdorf.

family

He was married twice. He married Auguste Sophie von Geusau on February 2, 1720 (October 10, 1697 - March 2, 1732). Daughter of brunswick-Lüneburg Chamberlains and canons of Günther Geusau and Johann Ursula, born Baroness of Rehdinger. The couple had several children including:

  • Heinrich Karl Anton (* December 5, 1720; † June 1784), chief steward in Greiz ⚭ Susanna Rosine von Zajonczek († November 11, 1800)
  • Christian Ludwig August (born September 16, 1722; † November 1, 1773), lieutenant colonel , commander of the Dragoon Regiment (No. 8) ⚭ Auguste Hedwig von Bonin († 1775)
  • Benigna Sophie Eleonore (* May 24, 1724 - May 25, 1727), died of peeling, buried in the church in Ebersdorf
  • Erdmann Heinrich Christian (* July 22, 1726 - † September 6, 1731)
  • Ernestine Benigna Sophie (May 27, 1727 - March 1, 1742)
  • Christian Friedrich Heinrich (born August 31, 1730; † September 24, 1801), Consitorial President of the government in Gera ⚭ November 8, 1761 Luise Amalie von Dieskau (born June 17, 1743; † January 20, 1826)
  • Ermuthe Sophie August (March 2, 1732 - October 18, 1814) ⚭ March 24, 1760 Georg Friedrich von Horn († December 1, 1775), Vice-Chancellor of Glückstadt

After the death of his first wife in childbirth, he remarried in 1734, Johann Sophie Eleonore Charlotte von Wegern (1710–1783), daughter of the stable master Franz von Wegern and his wife, a born von Seckini. The couple had children:

  • Friedericke Sophie Eleonore (January 30, 1739 - February 1, 1740)
  • Charlotte Ulrike (born October 29, 1745; † after 1760 unmarried)
