Joachim von Bonin (born September 26, 1857 in Köslin in Western Pomerania ; † January 17, 1921 ibid) was a German administrative lawyer and district administrator.

Life

Von Bonin was born in Pomerania as the son of an officer. He studied in Greifswald , Tübingen and Berlin law . In 1877 he became a member of the Corps Pomerania Greifswald . He completed his legal clerkship from 1884 to 1886 in his native town of Köslin . In 1889 he entered the service of the province of Schleswig-Holstein as a government assessor in Schleswig. In 1890, von Bonin was appointed district administrator in the northern Schleswig district of Aabenraa , before moving to the same position in the Stormarn district in 1894 . In December 1918 he was deposed by the Workers 'and Soldiers' Council.

From Bonin's work in Stormarn

Von Bonin, during whose term of office the city of Wandsbek left the district, was one of the decisive modernizers of the infrastructure in the Stormarn district. During his time the electricity supply was also extended to smaller communities. He strongly advocated the construction of the Südstormansche Kreisbahn , which opened in 1907. For economic and political reasons, he prevented a relocation of the district administration from the now independent city of Wandsbek to Bad Oldesloe , which was demanded by many Stormarn residents.

MP

Von Bonin was a member of the Free Conservative Party . In 1907 he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives in a by- election, to which he belonged until 1918.
