George Bogislav von Bonin (* December 1701 ; † March 27, 1764 in Köslin ) was a Prussian judge, most recently president of the court in Köslin .

Life

He was a member of the Pomeranian noble family Bonin ; his father Bogislav von Bonin was district administrator in the Fürstenthumschen district , his mother Barbara Veronika von der Osten was the daughter of Captain Otto Christoph von der Osten and Erdmuthe von Zitzewitz .

He attended school in Köslin . From 1720 he studied law at the Brandenburg University in Frankfurt and at the University of Halle . As a lawyer, he first worked at the Castle Court in Bublitz from 1727 , then from 1735 as a court judge at the court in Köslin and from 1737 as a Pomeranian councilor. In 1749 he was appointed President of the Court of Köslin as the successor to Ewald Georg von Kleist . He held this office until his death in 1764; his successor was George Friedrich von Broecker .

He was heir to Wogenthin , Dargen and Jatzthum . He had inherited part of the Dargen estate from his father, and was able to acquire the other part in 1741.

George Bogislav von Bonin was married twice. In his first marriage in 1720 he married his cousin Hedwig Sophie von Bonin († 1743), daughter of Rittmeister Ulrich Christian von Bonin and Anna Christine Riesen . The marriage resulted in seven children, four of whom died in childhood. After the death of his first wife, he married Anna Hedwig von Natzmer († around 1780) daughter of Dubislav von Natzmer and Hedwig von Wolden in 1746 ; this marriage remained childless.

During his lifetime, in 1753, he handed over the Wogenthin estate to his only surviving son, Georg Caspar von Bonin . From the estates Dargen and Jatzthum, however, a Fideikommiss was to be formed according to his will , the first owner of which was to be his grandson Georg Friedrich Felix von Bonin. But the will was revoked by a court judgment in 1767, so that Dargen and Jatzthum also came to his son Georg Caspar von Bonin. His grandson Georg Friedrich Felix von Bonin later became district administrator of the Dramburg district .
