Otto Friedrich Fürchtegott von Bonin (born March 2, 1756 in Elvershagen , † November 27, 1833 in Stargard in Pomerania ) was a Prussian landscape director . From 1784 until his death he headed the Stargard department of the Pomeranian countryside .

Life

origin

He came from the Upper Pomeranian noble family von Bonin . His father Friedrich Fürchtegott von Bonin (* 1725; † 1777) was a Prussian lieutenant and landowner. His mother Antoinette Friederike (* 1734, † 1757) was born Countess Finck von Finckenstein . His younger half-brother Ernst Friedrich Otto von Bonin (* 1761, † 1822) rose in the Prussian army to lieutenant general .

Career

Otto Friedrich Fürchtegott von Bonin attended the Knight Academy in Brandenburg from 1771 to 1774 . From 1774 to 1777 he studied law at the University of Halle , but was also enrolled as a theology student.

In 1777 Bonin took over the rear Pomeranian estates of Elvershagen , Oberhagen , Niederhagen A , Karnitz and Klein Raddow, which his father had left behind . He successfully participated in the speculation of goods and made considerable wealth. He sold it in 1794 Elvershagen (with the Vorwerke Louisenhof and Liebenthal), Karnitz and Klein Raddow; Probably Oberhagen and Niederhagen A were also sold. For this he acquired Schönwerder ( Schönwerder A and Schönwerder B ) and Prince's flag in the same year , in 1795 Schöneberg . At Schönwerder he set up a farm , which he named Bonin after his family .

Right from the start, Bonin was involved in the Pomeranian Landscape , founded in 1781 , the landscape credit institute in Prussian Pomerania. At first he was a deputy for the Borckescher Kreis . In 1784 he became landscape director for the Stargard department and held this office for almost 50 years until his death in 1833. In 1831 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves .

Otto Friedrich Fürchtegott von Bonin married Louise Friederike Wilhelmine von Tschierschky (* 1763, † 1836), a daughter of the later major general Carl Wilhelm von Tschierschky . Several children were born from the marriage. The son Wilhelm Friedrich Fürchtegott von Bonin (* 1786; † 1852) became President of the Province of Pomerania. The daughter Albertine Dorothea Franziska von Bonin (* 1788, † 1854) married the lieutenant colonel and later lieutenant general Ernst Maximilian von Troschke . The daughter Louise von Bonin (* 1793, † 1820) married the major and later Lieutenant General Otto von Zieten .
