Landscape director

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A landscape director was a civil servant head of administration (a kind of "district president" or today "manager") of a landscape in Prussia , an administrative unit on a regional level. Mostly large landowners and / or lawyers took this position, the king had to confirm their choice.

The organs of a landscape were the "landscape college" (cabinet), the "landscape assembly " ( parliament ) with the "landscape president ", the "landscape councilors" and the "landscape delegates" who, unlike the landscape director, were volunteers.

The landscape director was elected by the landscape council. He had to prepare the resolutions of the landscape college and implement the resolutions of the landscape assembly and the landscape college.
