Ernst Bogislaw von Klitzing (born August 1, 1861 in Dziembowo , Kolmar i. Posen district ; † August 18, 1942 there ) was the Prussian district administrator and general landscape director in the province of Posen.

family

He came from the old Mittelmark noble family Klitzing , first mentioned in 1265, and was the son of the landlord von Dziembowo and Reichstag delegate Leberecht von Klitzing (1822-1899) and his second wife Gertrud von Rundstedt (1829-1906).

Klitzing married on September 26, 1893 on Gut Gorgast Regine von Rosenstiel (1866-1943), the daughter of Gustav von Rosenstiel (1824-1888), domain tenant on Gorgast and dike captain of the Oderbruch, and Clara Wahnschaffe .

He was the grandfather of the Physics Nobel Prize winner Klaus von Klitzing (* 1943).

Life

Klitzing studied in Heidelberg and became active in the Corps Saxo-Borussia in 1880 . He was a landlord on Dziembowo. From 1891 to 1908 he was royal Prussian district administrator of the Obornik district and from 1908 general landscape director. He was also a legal knight of the Order of St. John and a member of the Prussian manor house . From 1920 to 1936 Klitzing was President of the State Synod of the Uniate Evangelical Church in Poland .
