Christian zu Rantzau (politician)
Count Christian Carl Otto Adolf zu Rantzau on Rastorf (born October 15, 1858 in Uetersen , † May 21, 1939 in Rastorf ) was a German administrative and court official, manor owner and parliamentarian.
Life
Christian zu Rantzau came from the Rastorf house of the Holstein nobility family ( Equites Originarii ) Rantzau and was the son of the priest of Uetersen Emil zu Rantzau (1827–1888) and his wife Caroline Christiane Elisabeth, née. Reventlow (1837-1917).
He studied at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and the University of Tübingen Eberhard Karls law . In 1878 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . In the same year he joined the Corps Suevia Tübingen . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. From 1889 to 1897 he was district administrator for the district of Plön . In 1895 he was the founder of the Schleswig-Holstein region and became its general landscape director .
From 1911 to 1918 zu Rantzau was a member of the Prussian manor house . He later became a member of the Prussian State Council . He was the owner of the Rastorf manor near Preetz , chamberlain and honorary doctorate in law (Dr. jur. Hc).
