Walter von Hippel (District Administrator)

Wilhelm Ferdinand Walter von Hippel (born April 10, 1872 in Groß Kuglack in the Wehlau district , East Prussia ; † November 20, 1936 there ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer , district administrator in the Labiau district (1907–1915) and East Prussian general landscape director (1925–1933).

Life

Walter von Hippel was a descendant of the East Prussian noble family and the von Hippel family of landowners . He was also the owner of the Groß-Kuglau estate.

Career

Hippel received his doctorate in 1895 for Dr. jur. and worked as a government official. As district administrator, he headed the East Prussian district of Labiau from 1907 to 1915. As a secret government councilor and lecturing council, he worked in the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture, Domains and Forests (PrLandwMin.) And was appointed Deputy Prussian State Commissioner (PrStKom.) For the Eastern Territories during the First World War. After his retirement from civil service in 1918, von Hippel worked as East Prussian general landscape director until 1933.

He was also a member of the German Men's Club .
