Karl von Pückler-Burghauß

Karl Erdmann Alexander Ludwig Graf von Pückler (since 1887 Count von Pückler-Burghauß ) (born July 9, 1817 in Tannhausen in the Waldenburg district , † July 1, 1899 in Ober-Weistritz in the Schweidnitz district ) was a Prussian manor owner and politician.

Life

Count Karl von Pückler studied law in Bonn and Berlin . Then he entered the Prussian civil service. Since 1845 he managed his estates and left the civil service in 1848. Since then he has been the owner of the manor in Ober-Weistritz .

Between 1853 and 1861 Count Pückler was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . At first he belonged to the Arnim faction. In 1855 he became the founder and chairman of the Pückler faction named after him.

In 1858 Count Pückler was appointed royal chamberlain . Between 1863 and 1869 he was the district administrator of the Schweidnitz district . Then he was governor of Silesia . At the same time he received the honorary titles of master of ceremonies and head cupbearer .

From 1867 to 1871 Count Pückler was a member of the Reichstag of the North German Confederation . Between 1871 and 1877 he was a member of the Reichstag as a member of the Conservative Party for the constituency of Breslau District 9 ( Striegau - Schweidnitz . From 1876 he was General Landscape Director of the Province of Silesia. Until 1886 he was also President of the Central Agricultural Association of Silesia.
