Carl Wilhelm von Tschirschky
Carl Wilhelm von Tschirschky (born March 25, 1735 in Kunsdorf near Nimptsch , Principality of Brieg , Silesia ; † January 11, 1803 in Stargard in Pomerania ) was a Prussian major general , chief of the "Tschirschky" dragoon regiment named after him .
Life
origin
Carl Wilhelm von Tschirschky came from the Silesian noble family von Tschirschky . His mother was Sophie Magdalene von der Heyde (1700–1778). His father was the imperial grenadier captain Joachim Friedrich von Tschirschky (1686–1743).
Military career
Tschirschky's military career began in the Prussian army in Silesia, which was annexed by Prussia in 1742. In 1752 he became an Estandartenjunker in the cuirassier regiment "von Rochow" (No. 8) . In 1755 he became a cornet . During the Seven Years' War he took part in numerous campaigns and battles and was awarded the Pour le mérite order . In 1758 he became a lieutenant and adjutant under General Friedrich Wilhelm von Seydlitz . In his regiment he made a career as a staff cavalry officer , Rittmeister , company commander and after the war as a major in 1769 . As a result, he became the commander of the body regiment with which he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . In 1789 he became major general and chief of the "von Bosse" dragoon regiment .

In 1762 Tschirschky married Wilhelmine Johanna Christiane von Döring (1743–1779). This marriage had four daughters, including:

In 1790 Tschirschky married Karoline Katharine Luise Henriette von Sauerma b. von Posadowsky (1738–1824), daughter of Karl Friedrich von Posadowsky .
