The king sent him to Kassel at the end of January 1729 in order to examine the Hessian troops during a review .

On June 11, 1732 he became a colonel and a month later regimental commander. In August 1736 he gave up command and took over the cuirassier regiment "von Katte" . In the Battle of Mollwitz on April 10, 1741, he commanded the cavalry of the left wing. While the right wing cavalry failed, the Posadowsky units were successful. After the battle, the king divided the "von Platen" dragoon regiment . The previous chief of the regiment, Hans Friedrich von Platen , received the light units, which from now on formed the dragoon regiment of the same name , while the heavy units remained in the dragoon regiment No. 1 under their new chief Posadowsky. On June 4, 1741 he was promoted to major general and in January 1742 he became head of the Liegnitz Knight Academy. Nevertheless, he took part in the campaign in Moravia and came as far as Vienna. In the battle of Soor he fought under Wilhelm Dietrich von Buddenbrock and commanded the cavalry on the left wing.

On November 19, 1746, however, the king reprimanded him ("légéreté des Gemüthes") because he had mistaken the regimental treasury for his own. He was spared the court martial, but from then on the treasury was administered by a lieutenant colonel. Posadowsky died a little later on April 7, 1747.
