Friedrich Wilhelm von Varenne

Friedrich Wilhelm Marquis von Varenne (* 1698 in Berlin ; † November 11, 1744 in Prague ) was a royal Prussian colonel, chief of infantry regiment No. 31 and canon in Halberstadt .

Life

His parents were the Prussian Lieutenant General Jacques L'Aumonier, Marquis von Varenne and his wife Maria Isabelle von Vehlen . In his military career allowed him already on September 5, 1705 King Frederick I , in which his father's regiment to enter, where he took over a company. On September 3, 1716 he became a real captain, on March 7, 1729 major and on May 12, 1739 lieutenant colonel. In 1741 he was appointed as a colonel commander of Infantry Regiment No. 26 (Kleist). In February 1743 he became colonel in command of Infantry Regiment No. 31 (Dossow).

He fought in the First Silesian War and the Second Silesian War (1744–1745), especially in the battle near Lesch, before he died in November 1744 in Prague.

He was married to Sabine Luise von Rochow (1699–1756). The couple had several children including:

  • Albrecht Friedrich († 1757) wing adjutant of the king;
  • Louise Wilhelmine (born May 27, 1725; † August 3, 1757) ⚭ June 13, 1743 (divorced June 27, 1746) Friedrich Wilhelm von Posadowsky (born September 17, 1721; † October 9, 1781), Prussian court marshal.
