BW

The Bor Airport ( ICAO code : LYBO ) is located near the Serbian town of Bor at an altitude of 387 m above MSL . It was built in 1986 and mainly used for sport flying and skydiving. The airport was closed in 1998 and activities at the airport ceased. The airport was reopened on March 15, 2012 and has been used by the Aero Klub Bor flight club ever since .

Infrastructure and flight operations

The airfield has a 1085 m long, unlit asphalt runway with an approximately north-south orientation (15/33). To the west of this is the apron with parking areas, hangar and flight operations building.

Since it is primarily used for sport and leisure aviation, only visual air traffic currently takes place at Bor airfield . It is surrounded by a circular ATZ ( air space G, if active), which spares the city of Bor to the north.

Development and planning

Aero Klub Bor plans to open an aircraft workshop as there are only two general aviation workshops in Serbia . The city is also planning to modernize the airfield with approach lighting for night flights and to renew an NDB for instrument approaches .
