Bogislav Ernst von Bonin

Bogislav Ernst von Bonin (* 1727 , † July 27, 1797 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general , chief of infantry regiment No. 54 and heir to Repzien in Neumark .

Life

origin

His father was the Prussian Rittmeister Georg Ernst von Bonin (* 1684, † April 2, 1761), his mother his wife Luise von Sturm.

Career

He started in Infantry Regiment No. 26 (Kleist). There he took his leave as a lieutenant and went to his Repzien estate. With the Seven Years' War he returned to the service, became a wing adjutant to the king and soon a captain . In 1758 he was transferred as a major to Regiment No. 39 (Friedrich von Braunschweig).

On June 29, 1775 he became lieutenant colonel and on June 24, 1779 colonel . On March 1, 1786 he received the Infantry Regiment No. 54 (Klinzig) and was promoted to major general. In 1794 he was retired as lieutenant general.

family

He was married twice. His first wife was Charlotte Louise von dem Borne (the marriage was divorced on August 20, 1764 due to the wife's gambling addiction ). His second wife was Dorothea Luise von Möllendorff in 1772 , widow of Friedrich Wilhelm Ernst von Grumbkow and sister of Field Marshal Wichard von Möllendorff .

Field Marshal Wichard von Möllendorff adopted Friedrich Wilhelm von Bonin in 1799 in order to ensure the continuation of his name. In 1806, he received approval to use the name Bonin von Möllendorff. But the adopted son died in the Battle of Hagelberg in 1813 . Möllendorff then adopted his sister Ernestine and their children. The family has been called Wilamowitz-Möllendorff since 1815.
