Boob is a rock band from Bern around the front man Bubi Rufener.

Band history

In 1999 Bubi Rufener (also with Sugarbabies and Allschwil Posse ) experimented with trip-hop and electro sounds and found an interested colleague in Züri-West guitarist Markus Fehlmann. Together they produced a complete album , with almost all of Züri West , Carlos Häfliger ( Phon Roll ) and Mich Gerber taking part in this project by Bubi Rufener .

The album received enormous attention and top grades from professional circles, but could not really assert itself in sales or live. After that, the project was put on hold , also because of new albums from Allschwil Posse and Züri West . At a later date, Rufener and Fehlmann continued to work on a new album and produced a few songs, which have never been released because of differences of opinion with a potential new record label. Because of these differences, the two initiators let the project peter out and went back to their main projects.

At the beginning of 2006 Bubi Rufener began to write songs again and aroused the interest of those three musicians who are now an integral part of Boob, and thus produced these new songs as a whole band. In 2007, like the first album, the second album The Ono Sessions was released at Weltrekords . The EP A House Is A House with four songs of the upcoming work was released in advance in December 2006 , including the John Lennon cover Cold Turkey .

In contrast to the first album, there will be no more electronic sounds, but alternative retro rock . Apart from the singer Bubi Rufener, there is no longer any band member from the first longplayer, but Sam Mumenthaler, Peter von Siebenthal (both ex-Züri West) and Christoph Kohli ( Span ). Tom Etter (Züri West), David Gattiker ( Stiller Has , Patent Ochsner ) and Signorino TJ ( duet in Song Sleep ) also contributed to the recordings, which were mixed by Oli Bösch. A tour with over 30 concerts followed.
