Booster Bike in Toverland ( Sevenum , Limburg , Netherlands ) is a steel roller coaster from the model Motorbike Coaster from the manufacturer Vekoma . The downed roller coaster opened on July 27, 2004. Booster Bike is the prototype of this roller coaster model. In February 2006, a structurally identical facility was opened in Chimelong Paradise, China, with the Motorbike Launch Coaster .
Trains
The seats of the Motorbike Coaster are designed like small motorbikes (hence the English name Motorbike ). The passengers assume the posture of a motorcyclist. They are secured by brackets in the back and on both thighs.
Booster Bike has a train with eight cars. Two people (in a row) can be seated in each carriage.
journey
The train is transported from the station by means of a friction wheel drive through a left-right curve combination onto the acceleration section. Here the train is accelerated by a slide attached to a steel cable driven by a hydraulic motor . During the acceleration from 0–75 km / h in 3 seconds, the quick start on a motorcycle is to be simulated, which is supported by noises from motors from loudspeakers.
After being shot down, the train first passes an airtime hill . Various curves follow, including a so-called “horseshoe”. On its way back to the station, two smaller hills are crossed again, on which “ airtime ” can be felt before the train pulls into the eddy current brake . It is lifted out of the brake using friction wheels and returned to the station after a 180-degree curve.
Awards
In 2005, the operator Toverland and the manufacturer Vekoma were awarded the “FKF-Award 2004” innovation prize by the Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks eV for the railway .
