Borderpaki is a punk band from Neumünster .

style

Borderpaki is assigned to German punk , but there are also more and more hardcore punk elements and occasional set pieces from heavy metal , but also ska and reggae allusions in the music pieces of the band. Typical is the partly throaty, partly aria-like singing of the singer and playing with predominantly maritime symbolism. The band appears in a classic line-up, consisting of a singer, a guitarist, a bass player and a drummer. It was named after a subspecies of the so-called " black Afghan ".

history

Borderpaki was founded in 1995 by childhood friends Rübi and Gil ( guitar , vocals ) together with Anke Hell ( bass ) and Torben Ladendorf ( drums ). After two concerts in 1995, Anke and Torben left the band and were replaced by Poldy (drums) and Robi (bass). The band existed with this line-up until 1997 and played some highly regarded concerts in Schleswig-Holstein. After Gil left Robi switched to guitar and Milan took over bass until 1998. From 1999 to 2013 the position of bassist was carried out by Larse. In 2006 the band split up after the album recordings for No Space for Poetry by Poldy, the vacant drum position was taken by Heedwich (ex- Vocation , ex- BGT ). After several Germany-wide tours, Larse left the band due to a serious illness in 2013 and was replaced by Joscha. In 2006 the band took part in the folk music competition Goldene Sprotte - The Grand Prix of the North in Kiel Castle for fun and took 4th place. In 2008, through YouTube , the live video for the song Titanic NMS announcement , which deals lyrically with the right scene Neumünster right after massive protests YouTube users initially blocked, then asked, however, due to a counter-campaign from the fan base of the band back online.

In 2009, Borderpaki separated from the Swabian punk label due to the collaboration between their former label Nix Gut and the controversial band Frei.Wild and switched to the small Schwerin-based independent label SN-Punx .
