The Borrowman Canal ( Spanish Canal Borrowman , in Argentina Canal Murature ) is a strait in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . In the group of the Melchior Islands , it separates the Eta Island in the north from the Omega Island in the south. The canal connects Andersen Harbor on the strait The Sound between the Western and Eastern Melchior Islands with Dallmann Bay .

Chilean scientists named him after Carlos Borrowman Sanhueza, head of the 25th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1970–1971). Argentine scientists, however, named it after the Argentine research vessel Murature .
