Bosal is a multinational metalworking industrial company, in particular a supplier of semi-finished products for the automotive industry and other branches of industry.
The headquarters of the company, which was founded in Alkmaar , Netherlands in 1923 , is now in Lummen , Belgium. The Bosal International Group has a total of 42 production sites and 27 distribution centers in 23 countries. The Bosal Germany GmbH (70 employees) headquartered in Viersen and a service center in Garbsen near Hannover. Bosal-Oris is located in Markgröningen . The Bosal Group currently employs a total of around 5,500 people. Ton Vernaus has been the company's CEO since November 8, 2016.
The company is divided into two business areas:
The automotive division mainly produces exhaust systems and exhaust gas control systems ( vehicle catalytic converters ), towing devices , roof racks , jacks , tool boxes and other metal components. The automotive sector operates in both the original equipment and the aftermarket business. Bosal is one of the leading suppliers of automotive catalytic converters worldwide and is the market leader in Germany. There is a joint venture with ORIS, one of Europe's leading original equipment manufacturers with towing devices. The Automotive division (2006: 42 production sites, 27 distribution centers, 5,561 employees) achieved sales of 726 million euros in 2006.
In the Industry division , u. a. Storage facilities (industrial shelves), vehicle cabins, precision pipes, agricultural irrigation systems and high-temperature components (e.g. preheaters for Stirling engines , wind heaters for microturbines, heat exchangers and natural gas reformers ). Bosal is one of the largest pipe manufacturers in Europe. The industry division (2006: 7 production sites, 823 employees) achieved a turnover of 150 million euros in 2006.
