history

Hanseatische Notruf AG was founded in Hamburg in 1920 and was one of many local companies in the Fuld Group. Police emergency call reception centers were set up and security technology was produced. In 1936 this was incorporated into the main company, which at that time was known as Telefonbau und Normalzeit Lehner and Co. (also T&N or TN). In 1968 a cooperation agreement was signed with AEG .

In 1981 Robert Bosch GmbH took over the majority of T&N with 75.5%. In the 1980s, Munich-based Friedrich Merk Telefonbau took up the production of security technology for T&N. In 1985 the company was renamed Telenorma . Three years later, in 1988, Bosch acquired a 100 percent stake in Telenorma. In 1995 the takeover of Münchener Merk Telefonbau took place. In 1995, Bosch bundled the business of various corporate divisions in Bosch Telecom GmbH .

In 2000, large parts of Bosch Telecom GmbH were sold. In the following years the product range was expanded rapidly. In 2001 the takeover of Detection Systems, Inc. in Fairport (New York) , a manufacturer of electronic intrusion detection technology, followed in 2002 the takeover of Philips CSI , a leading manufacturer of video surveillance technology. In the same year the company was renamed Bosch Sicherheitssysteme GmbH . In 2004 Micos GmbH in Würselen (access control) and VCS AG from Nuremberg (digital video transmission technology) were taken over. The following year, 2006, Telex Communications Holdings, Inc. , Minneapolis (audio and electroacoustic systems) and the TeleAlarm Group , based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, were acquired. In 2007 the takeover of Business Relations srl in Timișoara followed and in 2008 Extreme CCTV in Burnaby and Landau electronic GmbH in Mörfelden . In 2010 the head office was relocated from Ottobrunn to Grasbrunn , eight kilometers away .

Since January 1, 2016, the Service Solutions product area, which until then belonged to Bosch Sicherheitssysteme GmbH, has been a separate division within the Bosch Group. Bosch Service Solutions is a solution provider in the field of business process outsourcing for complex, technology-driven services with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main.

The Bosch division has been called Bosch Building Technologies since March 1, 2018. The company continues to operate in Germany as Bosch Sicherheitssysteme GmbH.
