Bosche, Zarja chrani!
The hymn Bosche, Zarja chrani! ( Russian Боже, Царя храни ! - dt. God protect the tsar! ) was the national anthem of the Russian Empire from 1833 to 1917 . The text is by Wassili Andrejewitsch Schukowski , the composition by Alexei Fjodorowitsch Lwow . Tchaikovsky processed the melody both in the 1812 overture and in the Slavonic March .
