The Boskops is a Hanoverian hardcore punk band. In addition to Blut + Eisen and Daily Terror , they are among the most important German punk bands in this region and also had a significant influence on the scene nationwide.

Band history

The band was formed in 1981. Most of the members already knew each other from the Hanoverian punk band Blitzkrieg . In 1983 they recorded the first LP SOL 12 . The brutality and speed of their songs made Boskops quite well known in the punk underground. In the same line-up, the Lauschgift- LP was created, which turned out much more slowly. The participation in the We Don't Need Nuclear Force - and the Hardcore Vol.1 sampler made Boskops internationally known. In 1988 FEDIA was initially released as an in-house production. Clear metal influences could be heard. After a few line-up changes and a brief break-up, the band re-founded in 1989 with Hein Heilig on drums, who were replaced by Percy in 1990.

1990 Boskops take part in the first battle cry BRD -Sampler. In 1991 the last album Non Plus Ultra was released . The band broke up in the late 1990s. AM Music released all albums in a double pack on one CD in the 1990s. Recordings from the never completed fifth LP were released in 2000 on the third BRD Punk Terror sampler on Nasty Vinyl .

In July 2012, after a long break, the band got together for a concert that was actually intended as a one-off gig. The positive audience response encouraged the Boskops to play a few gigs again since then, in 2013 with the line-up of Willy (vocals), Tilo (drums), Ralle (git), Wixer (git), Thorsten (bass).
