Bosse "Bo" Skoglund (born April 10, 1936 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish jazz musician ( drums , vibraphone ).

Live and act

Skoglund heard at the age of five years, the Drum Boogie by Gene Krupa , who awakened the desire in him to drum. In 1951 he started as a musician. From 1960 to 1963 he directed a sextet in Skövde that played dance music (drummer was Sven-Åke Johansson ). He also recorded with Don Cherry and Bengt Nordström . As a jazz musician he played with Bernt Rosengren , Börje Fredriksson , Staffan Abeleen and Lars Gullin and in 1965 with the American saxophonist Ben Webster at the Gyllene Cirkeln jazz club .

Skoglund also worked as a studio musician until 1967 (for example with Varm Korv Boogie, Tunna Skivor and Klas-Göran). He has worked with Peps Persson and his Peps Blodsband since the 1970s . Skoglund also worked as a drummer for Roland Keijser's group Arbete och Fritid , with whom several albums were created from 1970. He also belonged to Bengt Berger's Bitter Funeral Beer Band (appearance at the German Jazz Festival 1982 with Don Cherry). He has also played for Bo Hansson (on the album El-ahrairah ), Fläsket Brinner and Babatunde Tony Ellis (on the album No Place to Run ). He can also be heard on albums by Monica Zetterlund , Mats Glenngård, Johnny Dyani and Christer Bothén .

He also accompanied Dexter Gordon , Lucky Thompson , Kenny Dorham , Oscar Brown Jr. , Shirley Bassey , Louisiana Red and Carey Bell . At the age of 70, Skoglund released his solo album Groovesopor .
