Botho Jung (moderator)
Botho Jung (born July 16, 1927 in Zwingenberg ; † April 18, 2014 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German television and radio presenter at Hessischer Rundfunk .
Life
Jung initially took up a degree in philosophy and medicine , which he broke off. After the end of the Second World War he became a spokesman for Radio Frankfurt , the predecessor of Hessischer Rundfunk, where he appeared daily on the show Heiner und Phillip , which became one of the station's longest-running entertainment programs as Für Stadt und Land . Until the mid-1950s, Botho Jung then worked for the Hessischer Rundfunk in a wide variety of genres. He spoke the news and moderated politics, music, radio plays and business programs . In 1954 he was fired for alleged lack of discipline, but in the ensuing labor court trial , the HR was sentenced to reinstate Jung.
Between 1959 and 1963, Jung was a foreign correspondent in the United States . After his return he was employed as a presenter on Hessian television in addition to his radio work.
In 1975 Jung became a partner in the Bad Homburg casino , and in 2003 he took over a hotel in the Rheingau , which he later sold to an international hotel group. He owned a winery in the Rheingau. Jung was married and had two daughters.
