Bounty ( English for fullness ) is a confectionery with a chocolate coating and a filling made of coconut flakes . It was launched in the UK and Canada in 1951 and is manufactured by Mars Incorporated . In the United States, Bounty is only offered by one department store chain. The competing product (mounds) has a dominant position in the USA.
Variations
Bounty is now available in different product variants. It became known as a chocolate bar , optionally in milk chocolate (blue packaging) or dark chocolate (red packaging). At times (from 2004 to 2005) there was also Bounty Mango in Germany and other European countries , in which the coconut mass of the chocolate bar covered with milk chocolate contained dried mango pieces. Bounty is also available as ice cream in various packaging sizes and as a spread.
The Mars Incorporated group sells the product internationally, including in Great Britain , Australia , Germany and Austria ; for the German-speaking market, the Bounty chocolate bars are produced in Breitenbrunn, Austria by the group subsidiary Mars Austria .
Imitations
Various discount chains offer imitations of the bounty bar in their markets. The names of these imitations are for example CoconutBits ( Aldi Nord), Romeo (Aldi Süd) and Coco-Nut ( Kaufland ).
Delegated use in France
In France black under human skin color is the name Bounty used pejoratively to describe a black man who thinks through education and training as a white man and rather solidarity in situations of conflict with the whites than blacks, with whom it only the skin color, but does not connect the inner attitude (outside brown, inside white).
